CSUFC vs Rawson Homes Raptors

CSUFC made it two wins from two matches as they did away with Rawson Homes Raptors at the Challenge Cup.

It never looked in doubt as Alec Geelan slotted his first goal in the top grade for CSU after being rewarded for a consistent season in second grade in 2016.

Geelan cleaned up the scraps following an effort from Angus Daymond and put CSU into the lead.

More quality play soon followed for the Stags as they double their advantage off the boot of Jaydon Hannaford.

The winger was the beneficiary of some quality build up play and slotted home from a Daymond pass after on 10 minutes.

That was to be all she wrote as the two sides played out a deadlocked second half.

The final score ending 2-0 as CSU failed to capitalise on some good chances in the second 45.

CSUFC vs Dubbo Macquarie United

CSUFC got their Challenge Cup campaign off to a dream start with a victory in their opening match against Dubbo Macquarie United.

Dubbo opened the scoring early before CSU equalised off the boot of Ollie Briggs – Talan Myers providing the assist.

The Stags soon hit the front, as Semon Rakiwskyj delivered a quality free kick which was nodded home by Briggs – who notched his second of the afternoon.

The scores were soon level once again however as Dubbo found the net, seeing the score locked at 2-2 at the break.

However, CSU weren’t done yet and managed to snatch a winner through Callum Weafer who headed home from a Rakiwskyj corner in his first match as a Stag!

Man of the match honours went the way of Semon Rakiwskyj who’s two set piece assists proved crucial as CSU got off to a much needed winning start.
